5 DIY Easter Decoration Ideas

The days off around the holidays are the perfect time to indulge in baking Easter bread, preparing favorite dishes, and why not some artistic activities, like making Easter decorations. Today we present you with several ideas to bring a festive mood into your home.

Colorful Eggs

Mix a stiff dough from flour and water and color it with turmeric, spirulina, purple corn powder, or beetroot juice in various colors. Roll out and cut egg shapes with a hole at the top. Bake them, and once cooled, add ribbons to hang them wherever you like at home. Another option is to bake the eggs with wooden skewers inserted into their bottom end – this way you can use them to decorate your potted plants.

Mini Candle Holders

What to do with the empty eggshells left over after making an omelet, for example? You can turn them into colorful tea light holders to decorate your festive table. Carefully wash the shells, and once dry, dye them with egg dye. All that remains is to place mini candles inside.

Nest with Chicks

When you start dyeing eggs, set aside 3-4 of them to make "chicks." Dip only one side of each in bright yellow dye, and once dry, draw eyes, a beak, wings, and legs. Arrange them in a bowl filled with colored paper.

Vase Decoration

If you're looking for a more unconventional idea for festive decoration, we have something for you. Decorate your flower vase by arranging pre-dyed and washed boiled eggs at the bottom. The vessel should ideally be transparent and wide. Then you can add both flowers and thin blossoming branches from a fruit tree.

Mini Plant Holders

The last idea is from @dolce.ivelina's profile. For this, you'll need carefully emptied eggshells and a marker to draw smiling faces or other patterns on them. Then, fresh flowers are placed inside. Here's a video with precise instructions.

Alongside Easter decorations, we can't forget the traditional egg dyeing. The GREEN team recommends you do it with natural dyes, about which you can read more here.
