Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place paper liners in a muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients for the cupcakes: coconut sugar, both types of flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry – melted coconut oil, espresso, and dark beer (or orange juice). Stir with a spoon just until combined. It's important not to overmix.
  4. Divide the batter evenly into the prepared liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer – it should come out clean when inserted into the center of the cupcake.
  6. Remove the cupcakes and let them cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
  7. While the cupcakes are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, whip the chilled coconut milk, coconut cream, and powdered sugar with a mixer until a fluffy frosting is formed.
  8. Decorate each cupcake with frosting and, if desired, sprinkle with crushed roasted hazelnuts for extra crunch and indulgence.

Enjoy this unique and aromatic dessert!
