For this purpose, we have prepared delicious Lenten recipes with only seasonal foods and vegan ingredients. Entirely plant-based dishes can be just as delicious.
We believe that with today's recipe for Vegan Spaghetti Bolognese, you will delight your entire family with taste and aroma. Let's prepare the Lenten version of one of the most beloved spaghetti dishes together. Let's start step by step:
Required ingredients:
- 200 gr. spaghetti
- 1 can of tomatoes or a jar of tomato sauce
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- ½ onion
- 1 pinch of rosemary
- 1 pinch of Himalayan salt
- 1 pinch of black pepper
- 1 pc. nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp pesto
- 1-2 roasted peppers
- 200 gr. textured vegetable protein Granulated
- 2-3 tbsp. vegan mayonnaise
Method of preparation: - First, you need to put about 800 gr. of salted water with a few drops of oil on the stove to boil. Once it boils, add the spaghetti and cook for about 9-10 minutes, according to the instructions on the package. Don't forget to stir occasionally so they don't stick to the bottom of the pot.
- The textured pea protein needs to be rehydrated - pour 200 gr. of it with hot water in a 1:2 ratio and leave for a few minutes until the product softens and absorbs the water.
*Textured vegetable proteins are a complete alternative to meat. They are often used during a diet or when we want to limit animal meat intake for some reason. In today's recipe, we use one of Dragon Superfoods' textured proteins, which are completely natural, GMO-free, gluten-free, and have a proven organic origin.
Let's continue with the recipe - Sauté the peppers, onion, and garlic briefly in a pan until golden. Then add the textured protein. It needs to be cooked until lightly browned.
- Pour the tomato sauce into the mixture and the nutritional yeast until it thickens.
- Season the sauce with all the above-mentioned spices and stir well.
- Drain the spaghetti well and add them to the aromatic sauce. Stir gently until the spaghetti is flavored. Finally, for the delight of true spaghetti connoisseurs, you can add 2-3 tablespoons of ToFuTo's vegan mayonnaise.
*If you prefer - you can bake it in the oven, adding grated vegan cheese and baking until a crust forms, being careful not to burn them.
