Organic St. John's Wort Essential Oil has a herbaceous aroma with a sweet note. The popularity of the oil originates from Bulgaria and Greece, where the St. John's wort herb grows in its natural habitat. Used for decades in these lands, both the herb and the oil have been part of traditional natural remedies for healing and/or cosmetic procedures.

The herb has become popular for a number of properties, being best known for its beneficial effect on tension, irritation, and for calming, both on an emotional and psychological level, and for soothing an irritated digestive system, for example. Organic St. John's wort essential oil retains these qualities of the herb and its application as aromatherapy is even more pronounced. Regular use is believed to help in coping with depressive moods and stress. Mixed with a carrier oil, it is often used by athletes for restorative massages of muscles, tendons, and tissues. Its antioxidant properties, antimicrobial and regenerative action, and its application for external injuries are also highly valued.

For cosmetic purposes, organic St. John's wort essential oil can help regulate sebum, which is why it is preferred for oily hair and skin.

Organic St. John's wort essential oil (as well as using the herb in other ways) increases the photosensitivity of the skin. It is not recommended for people with sun allergies, very fair and/or sensitive skin, or before sun exposure (minimum 8 hours). Usage:

For scenting rooms: add 5 drops to an aroma lamp.

For skin: add 15 drops to 50 ml. carrier oil; the resulting mixture is suitable for massages.

For a bath: add 3-5 drops of oil to a bath of warm water and stir vigorously.
